Application for Graduate Admission
Announcement of change of entrance examination of Graduate Schools of Veterinary Medicine/Infectious Diseases in 2018 and later
From the entrance examination in 2018, Graduate School of Veterinary Medicine / Infectious Diseases abolished Special Selection Quota for International Students (Program for Development of Global Professionals for One Health) and Selection Quota for International Students (Self-Financed) instead hold them as the Entrance Examination for International Students (admission in April in 2019) . Introduction of External English test
Graduate School of Veterinary Medicine will change the evaluation method of English ability of applicants from the Entrance Examination for Academic Year 2021. The formerly used English examination by Graduate School of Veterinary Medicine will be replaced by external English tests (TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, etc…). In principle, all applicants of all examination categories are required to submit a score from an external English tests, together with the other application forms for Entrance Examination. A minimum TOEFL iBT score of 55 or an equivalent score from other English tests (within 2 years before the date of the Entrance Examination) is required for application. Therefore, all potential applicants for Graduate School of Veterinary Medicine are advised to plan on obtaining a score of external English tests well in advance.
Note that obtaining English ability equivalent to TOEFL iBT score of 75 is advised for a smooth start and successful PhD training since all lectures in Graduate School of Veterinary Medicine are given in English.

Exemption of English proficiency test
1. Applicants who have satisfactorily completed within the last 2 years either a postgraduate degree of at least two years duration or an undergraduate degree, where the degree was taught and assessed entirely in English, are exempt. If the degree was completed within the last five years, applicants can provide evidence of sustained work in an English language environment and/or writing in English since completing the degree for consideration by the selection committee.
2. Applicants who are citizens of designated countries* and have completed undergraduate studies in English and have subsequently worked in an English speaking country are exempt.
*designated countries: Australia, Canada (except Quebec), New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, United Kingdom and United States.
