The School of Veterinary Medicine is established. (Department of Veterinary Medicine) Seven departments are established: Internal Medicine (for the first section), Veterinary Surgery (for the second section), Hygiene, Comparative Pathology, Anatomy, Physiology and Veterinary Public Health.

The Graduate School of Veterinary Medicine, Hokkaido University is established. The Departments of Biochemistry and Epizootiology are established.

The Departments of Preventive Therapeutics and Biomedical Sciences are established in the Graduate School.

The Livestock Hospital is established. (The National School Establishment Law is partially revised.)

The minimum duration of studies in the School of Veterinary Medicine becomes six years due to the partial revision of the School Education Act.

The Department of Laboratory Animal Science and Medicine is established.

The master’s course of the Graduate School of Veterinary Medicine is abolished and the minimum duration of studies in the doctor’s course becomes four years due to the partial revision of the School Education Act.

The Laboratory of Molecular Medicine and the Laboratory of Ecology are established.

The Livestock Hospital becomes a facility associated with the Graduate School of Veterinary Medicine.

The Department of Prion Disease is established in the Graduate School of Veterinary Medicine.

2006

The Zoonosis Course (a cooperating course) is established in the Graduate School of Veterinary Medicine.

2007

The Livestock Hospital becomes the Animal Hospital, which is directly managed by the Graduate School of Veterinary Medicine.

The Laboratory of Advanced Veterinary Science is established.

2009

The Veterinary Educational Innovation Office is established.

The Department of Prion Disease is renamed the Laboratory of Veterinary Hygiene, the Department of Applied Veterinary Science.

The Laboratory of Ecology is renamed the Laboratory of Wildlife Biology and Medicine.

2012

The cooperative veterinary education program of Hokkaido University and Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine starts.
