The Cooperative Veterinary Education Program between Hokkaido University School of Veterinary Medicine and Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine (VetNorth Japan, VNJ) has successfully passed the EAEVE interim accreditation review (September 5, 2023).

The VNJ Interim Report submitted in January 2023 was reviewed at the ECOVE meeting on June 7, and the results were as follows:

1. The Interim Report was prepared in accordance with the SOP.

2. Continuous efforts are being made to address the following three minor deficiencies raised by the FV:

Std3.5: Insufficient practical education on food safety and quality, including meat inspection,

Std9.3: Insufficient training in relevant teaching skills of academic and support staff who participate in education,

Std9.6: Unclear promotion criteria for academic and support staff

3. Improvements were seen in all ESEVET indicators for the four items (I11, I12, I16, I147) that received low evaluations by the FV.

The above points were confirmed, and no further issues were identified.

We will continue our efforts to advance veterinary education in preparation for the official review in 2026.
