From the micro to the macro: Studying the mechanism of life
Physiology is a science that studies the mechanisms of life. In the veterinary physiology laboratory, we are working to understand the abilities of individual animals that are required for their survival, focusing mainly on mammals and birds, including animal species that we are likely to encounter in veterinary medical care. In order to gain an overview of the mechanisms of life, there is a need to have a holistic perspective as well as knowledge regarding a wide range of areas from the micro to the macro, including subcellular entities, cells, tissues, organs and individuals. In dailyresearch activities, it is easy to focus only on current research themes withlittle regard for broader perspectives. We will do our best to avoid lettingthat happen in our research.
We are seeking highly motivated prospective graduate students and welcome opportunities for collaborative research.
